one thing about me...

I've always had particular taste.

I used to blame it on being a picky eater. As a kid, my favorite restaurants were buffets — not because I had some insatiable appetite only endless access to the carving station could cure — but because they gave me control: Skip the wait, scope the selection, sample everything before letting it near my plate.

Cup of Nonfiction is crafted on that same no-time-wasted, take-what-you-want and leave-what-you-don't energy.

THE LONGER VERSION

I didn’t grow up a bookworm. In fact, I spent most of my childhood campaigning to swap assigned reading time for personal writing instead. As I grew older, I learned that what did stick were the real things — documentaries over dramas, stand-up specials over romantic comedies, news over novels. My painfully particular palate was craving real perspective over manufactured plot twists.

One day I queued up an audiobook to keep me company as I cleaned, and that one audiobook led to another. And another. Suddenly, I had bookshelves full of hard copies and a brain hungry for more. That’s when I realized: I hadn’t hated reading. I just hadn’t found the right stories yet. From that point forward, my diet consisted of only the freshest content: brutally raw memoirs, meticulously researched deep dives and remarkably clever true essay collections.

Thus, Cup of Nonfiction was born.

Though it began as a space for bite-sized book reviews, it has grown into a hub for essays, reflections and cultural commentary, all exploring the real stories shaping how we think and live.

Some pieces are deeply personal, others pull from the world around us — politics, culture, digital life. All of it is served with life's most important ingredient: perspective.

The stories we consume shape how we see the world, and I want this space to be one where people leave feeling a little more fed, not just full.

ONE MORE THING...

I admire every author vulnerable enough to publish their work for the world to chew on.

That's why I don't leave harsh reviews when I don't connect with a book or idea. Everyone has a voice and deserves respect when they use it; who am I to judge? It's a privilege just to taste.

This belief is the core of Cup of Nonfiction, the primary ingredient present in everything on the menu, and the reason I decided to get in the kitchen in the first place. So I guess what I'm saying is: I hope you're hungry.

Get to know me.

But not too well. Identity  theft is real .
